About our Keyboard Layout

The keyboard layout for our font mapping is known as the Khmer Harmonized English Keyboard (KHEK). This keyboard layout was originally designed for use on the Apple Macintosh computers back in early 1985; and later we adapted the same layout for the IBM-PC/Compatible computers. Our goal has always been to have `ONE' standard keyboard for all computers and machines requiring data entry. This multi-platform keyboard design allows you to switch between Macintosh and IBM-PC without having to learn different keyboard arrangements. It also allows you to share text files created on different computers. For example, if you have a document already typed using our @Kompong Pras font on the Macintosh and you want to use this document on the IBM-PC, all you need to do is to `save' or `export' the Macintosh document as `text only' format; then import the text file to the IBM-PC word processor. Our User's Manual explains this process in more details.
